IFS accompanies Evers Specials with expansion of working capital financing, real estate- and capex finance

3 August 2021

In July 2021, IFS assisted Evers Specials, based in Nijmegen, Holland, with the structural expansion of its existing working capital financing (current account, bank guarantee facility and seasonal credit) and in setting up an additional capex facility plus real estate financing with its existing principal bank, Rabobank, on the basis of a targeted bank tender.
Thus, the envisaged multi-year investment and new construction programme (including the expansion, furnishing and sustainability of the entire product location and head office in Nijmegen) can be realised in the near future. Integrated Finance Solutions (IFS) BV advised Evers Specials throughout the entire financing process, using its various advisory disciplines.

Evers Specials
Evers Specials was established in 1962 as a mushroom farm in Nijmegen. After a decade the company saw opportunities in the, at that time still in its infancy stage, bean sprouts market. During the following years, Evers Specials conducted extensive research into the preservation of bean sprouts and subsequently focused entirely on processing and adding value to bean sprouts in the broadest sense of the word. In the years that followed, the company, now fully specialised in bean sprouts, grew from a small bean sprout grower to THE bean sprout specialist and market leader throughout Europe.
In 2021, Evers Specials produces between 400 and 600 tonnes of bean sprouts every week, with the help of approx. 70 employees at its nursery in Nijmegen. The company has found strategic chain cooperation and co-shareholding in Heuschen & Schrouff Foods Group, based in Landgraaf, Holland, as a leading supplier to Asian supermarkets throughout Western Europe.

Evers Specials proactively responds to the current socio-economic food trends in the market, such as increasing health awareness, strong growth in the convenience/ready-to-eat market and increased shelf space in supermarkets for chilled products, including bean sprouts, and supplies its products in various types of packaging in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom. Sales occur through various distribution channels. Evers Specials supplies international retail, vegetable-cutting companies, the processing industry and wholesalers for Western and Asian cuisine. A characteristic of the supply chain of Evers Specials is the efficient chain management which has enabled the company to control the quality of the entire chain distribution process, from the high-quality initial growing to the final delivery of its end products to leading parties in the various distribution channels. As a result, Evers Specials controls and manages the total quality of the bean sprout production and distribution process. Evers Specials is also co-founder of the European Sprouted Seeds Association (ESSA) and is jointly responsible for the further development and innovative improvement of its sector on an international scale.
