IFS accompanies Zalmhuys Group with continuation & extension of current factoring facilities, lease facilities and term loans

In May 2023, Zalmhuys Group, a highly versatile, prominent and leading fish and seafood processor and wholesaler, completed the continuation & extension of current factoring facilities, lease facilities and term loans with ING Bank. This refinancing will support Zalmhuys Group's growth strategy, its cost effective processing of high quality fish products and its position in the global seafood market. This refinancing also provides Zalmhuys Group with the opportunity to invest in new machine lines that will further optimise the processing process in a cost effective manner and enable the company to remain progressive in terms of its state-of-the-art production facilities. Integrated Finance Solutions (IFS) accompanied Zalmhuys Group throughout the refinancing process.

Zalmhuys Group
Zalmhuys Group was established in 2002, building on a centuries-old fishing tradition and a generation of accumulated knowledge and experience in the craft of fish and seafood processing. Zalmhuys Group has grown rapidly, both organically and through acquisitions, to become a renowned chain manager, supplier and wholesaler of high quality fresh and smoked salmon with a unique and unmistakable flavour, as well as other seafood and products, and has achieved a dominant market position. In this context, Zalmhuys Group has state-of-the-art production facilities, techniques and equipment and trades in various fish and seafood products from its location in the heart of Urk, which has developed into one of the largest fish trading centres and fish roundabouts in the world. Zalmhuys Group imports salmon from various suppliers in Norway, as well as the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Ireland. Efficient logistics and diverse product origins give Zalmhuys Group a clear advantage in terms of continuous, broad and stable access to fresh fish and seafood products at attractive prices. In this context, the company offers its customers the possibility the choice of ASC or BIO labelling and a wide range of packaging options. The company is managed on a day-to-day basis by a very strong, diverse and complementary management team.

Another important element of Zalmhuys Group's distinctiveness is its ability to serve several geographically diversified markets, including the home market, Southern Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. Zalmhuys Group also has a keen eye for the most major long-term trends in the fish processing industry, where corporate sustainability and the supply of a high-quality product are top priorities. In this context, the company has obtained several certifications in the field of environmentally and socially responsible seafood production. Thanks to its broad customer base, Zalmhuys Group is not dependent on any single market and is continuing its strategy of market and turnover diversification through further expansion within the various relevant and adjacent markets.

The realised refinancing with ING Bank will enable Zalmhuys Group to support and further facilitate its long-term vision, the further consolidation of its market position and expansion of its global market position in the coming years.
