Van Kessel Fruit realises refinancing & expansion of banking financing facilities

In September 2023, Van Kessel Fruit successfully completed and placed the refinancing, working capital and expansion investment financing with its house bank, Rabobank. This financing will enable Van Kessel Fruit to implement its growth ambitions, which include EBITDA growth based on organic sales growth and efficiency-enhancing investments, including more efficient production processes (robotics and automation) and advanced sorting techniques. Integrated Finance Solutions (IFS) advised Van Kessel Fruit throughout the entire financing process.

Van Kessel Fruit is a family company with its origins in the Rivierenland region of Gelderland. Van Kessel Fruit has been active in the hard fruit sector since the 1930s. What started out as a combined agricultural company, Van Kessel Fruit expanded over time into the specialisation of growing, processing and exploitation of hard fruit. In addition to its three in-house growing locations, Van Kessel Fruit has a modern cold storage facility at its headquarters in Velddriel with a storage capacity of 10,000 tonnes, two modern sorting lines and its own retail packaging department. This enables Van Kessel Fruit to supply its clients with apples and pears all year round.

Van Kessel Fruit is characterised by efficient chain management, with which the company controls the total quality of the distribution process (storage, sorting, packaging, retail packaging, transport), optimal stock management, variety assortment ('Evelina' variety), the exploitation of high-quality premium fresh products/own brands ('Max', 'Gewoon Goed Fruit') and an efficient organisation, in which Van Kessel Fruit can continue to change gear quickly in order to respond effectively to opportunities in a growing and dynamic market.
