In the autumn of 2020, compound feed company Fransen Gerrits Group, located in Erp, completed the refinancing of all its existing financing arrangements with various banks, thereby choosing for Rabobank as new house bank. The Groups’ financing facilities were augmented as well, in order to facilitate Fransen Gerrits to realise the envisaged further growth. This also includes the recent strategic cooperation / takeover of ‘Fierens Diervoeders’ in Belgium. Rabobank will also deliver the entire payment system and cash management services for the Group. Integrated Finance Solutions (IFS) guided Fransen Gerrits and her management throughout the entire bank refinancing process and its choice of new house bank.
Fransen Gerrits Group
Since its foundation in 1897, Fransen Gerrits Group has grown from a committed, innovative and ambitious family business into the enterprising compound feed specialist that it is today. With its business operation, Fransen Gerrits Group produces more than 700,000 tons of feed for pig, cattle and rabbit farming, providing for every 1 in 3 pigs, 1 in 6 cows and 1 in 3 rabbits in its compound feed working area.
All products and services are optimally geared to the business operations of the buyers. Fransen Gerrits Group truly acts as a partner of the livestock farmer whereby, in addition to supplying products, active support is also provided with regard to increasing the quality of products, lowering the cost price and consciously promoting animal and environment welfare. Fransen Gerrits Group is achieving market share growth, partly thanks to aiming its concentration on range, quality, product innovation and customer focus. The Group has state of the art production locations, its own research laboratory and its own pilot plants. The strategic pillars of Fransen Gerrits Group are aimed at both margin and sales growth, in combination with the pursuit of operational excellence through process optimisation.
Fransen Gerrits Group sells its feeds under three brand names: 'Fransen Gerrits' is the brand for pig farming, 'Victoria Mengvoeders' for cattle and rabbit farming and 'Vikra' for East German pig and cattle farming. In order to realise geographic expansion, fellow family business 'Fierens Diervoeders' (based in Belgium) has recently been added to the Group as a strategic collaboration cum acquisition, whereby both companies will work together intensively, but very consciously keep their own (national) identity. The work areas of both companies seamlessly connect with each other and together they achieve an aggregated total annual turnover of approximately EUR 250 million.
The attracted refinancing for the coming years with Rabobank as strategic banking partner gives the Group the opportunity to realise further (geographic) expansion and facilitates further growth and development of its activities.
