Scherpenhuizen realises financing of new distribution centre

In order to facilitate the current and rapid growth of the company, Scherpenhuizen chose for a ‘turn-key’ solution to expand its company location and distribution facilities in Eindhoven. This new multi-functional site offers many possibilities to further develop and facilitate the growth of current business.
IFS advised Scherpenhuizen during the negotiations of the required financing, which was successfully completed at the end of December 2015.
Financing arrangements have been provided by ABN Amro Bank. The asset-based working capital finance facilities have been provided for by ABN Amro Commercial Finance.

Scherpenhuizen specialises in in- and export, storage, transshipment, packaging and distribution of vegetables, fruits and exotics. The company started as a traditional auction seller more than 40 years ago. With a strong customer focus, Scherpenhuizen has developed into a modern supplier of the entire green fresh assortment.
Scherpenhuizen directs the entire delivery process from purchase to delivery: order picking, storing, cooled transportation, packaging, dividing and sorting, labelling and repacking the products are all controlled by company.
From the head office in Eindhoven Scherpenhuizen services the harbors of Rotterdam and Antwerpen, as well as Germany, Austria, France and the rest of Europe effortlessly.
The new plant surfaces a total of 35.000 m², of which 12.000 m² storage space is air conditioned and 2.500 m² refrigerated. The 36 docks are perfectly catered to support transportation fast transshipment of the green assortment hence will prevent any adverse effects caused by product assimilation.
